仅半数非洲大湖区矿产出口商对其负责任采购工作做出报告

全球见证(Global Witness)一项新调查显示,仅有不到半数正式注 册的、从刚果民主共和国(简称:刚果(金))东部、卢旺达和乌干达出口矿物的公司在 2015 年发布了尽职调查报告。《是时候深入挖掘了》(Time to Dig Deeper)首次对该地区供应 链尽职调查的公开报告情况进行了详细分析。 

有充分证据表明,大湖区的部分区域及其他地区的矿产贸易与人权侵犯、资助冲突之间存在普遍联系,尽职调查因此被引入以应对此类问题。如果企业要出口产自刚果和卢旺达的特定矿物,则必须按照相应国家的法律开展尽职调查。

全球见证从位于刚果(金)的出口公司开始,追踪矿物至六家分别位于马来西亚、香港、 比利时、卢森堡和卢旺达的国际贸易商。尽管这些公司规模大、资源多,它们中的某些报告甚 至还不如出口商的详细。来自这里的矿物已被广泛用于世界各地的电子业、珠宝业和工业。
