Montreux Plus Five: Assessing the Current Status of the Development and Implementation of International Standards for the Private Military and Security Industry [USA]

Since 2008, 43 states have expressed their support for the Montreux Document on Pertinent Legal Obligations and Best Practices for States Related to Operations of Private Military and Security Companies during Armed Conflict. This conference will bring together stakeholders from business, government, and civil society to examine the current landscape of international and national norms, laws, and regulations applicable to the security industry and their implementation and effectiveness.
