As a statement of the good principles that private security companies should be striving towards, the ICoC is now frequently referred to in national and international fora regarding its role in helping to provide better oversight of the industry...the Steering Committee['s]...efforts are culminating in the release of a draft charter for the independent governance and oversight mechanism...which sets out in detail proposed key elements...The draft charter will be released early in 2012 and will be open for comment.
