It is intended that detailed examination and analysis of issues relating to the draft index and wider matters about the need, content, administration and management of a business and human rights index(es) and associated accreditation or certification scheme(s), will commence in consultation with stakeholders from late 2013...An index can contribute to identifying best practice...help make comparisons amongst businesses, sectors and regions...It can help reveal gaps in the human rights profile of a business or systemic issues in a sector or region...There is presently no business and human rights index (BAHRI) for business enterprises that has at its core human rights metrics relevant to business enterprises...
