Rainforest Foundation & Ethical Consumer Magazine guide ranks companies with palm oil products based on sustainability

Author: Rainforest Foundation UK, Published on: 3 May 2016

"Palm Oil Guide," Apr 2016

In Malaysia and Indonesia palm oil production has destroyed vast areas of rainforest and left indigenous forest peoples displaced and impoverished. Now palm oil growers have turned their attention to the rainforests of Central Africa, where more than a half a million hectares of forest are imminently threatened. Palm oil is an ingredient in many foods, cosmetic and household products. With this Product Guide, compiled with the assistance of Ethical Consumer magazine, we aim to provide information to help people make informed consumer choices. Discover more about our work to protect the Congo Basin from palm oil developments. Find out which daily item is destroying the rainforest.
