Report on human rights abuses in construction & renovation projects related to 2014 FIFA World Cup & 2016 Olympics; companies respond to allegations [Brazil]

[Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited BNDES, Concessionária Porto Novo and Consórcio Maracanã Rio 2014 to respond to human rights allegations in the report and also in articles. Responses provided.] In May 2013, the Popular Committee for the World Cup and the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, in partnership with the Observatório das Metrópoles and other organizations launched a report (summary in English; full report only in Portuguese), which examines the human rights impacts and abuses in the construction and renovation work undertaken to prepare for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympics in Rio.
