During the General Assembly of the General Committee of Bahrain Workers last week, a historic and democratic vote was taken to establish the first free trade union in the Gulf, the General Federation of Bahrain Workers (GFBW). Only days later, the Ministry of Labour demanded that the vote be rescinded.
