USA: Town residents file lawsuit against several cos. over waste disposal practices allegedly harmful for health

"Uniontown lawsuit targets smells, waste from businesses", 31 Mar 2018

A Tuscaloosa law firm has filed a lawsuit on behalf of Uniontown residents who say that corporations there stink up their neighborhood when disposing of chemical waste and sewage.  Tuscaloosa attorneys...are representing more than 30 residents of Uniontown against the Southeastern Cheese Corp., Southeastern Energy and Ferilizer LLC, and Crosscreek Farm LLC.  According to the complaint, the three Perry County companies are disposing of waste products, chemical waste and sewage by spraying them up and into the air from multiple high-volume sprayers in fields near the homes of the plaintiffs.  The lawsuit also names the CFM Group LLC, a civil and environmental engineering and land surveying firm...as defendants...CFM participated in the design and oversight of the spray fields...The Tuscaloosa attorneys say the fumes are toxic and present an immediate danger to the health of the plaintiffs, interfere with the use and enjoyment of their homes and make the plaintiffs physically ill, leading to respiratory difficulties, sinusitis, headaches, loss of appetite, trouble sleeping and more...
