Brian Waswa and Akram Katende, members of Justice Movement Uganda, were arrested during a march to the European Union offices in Kampala calling on the EU to pressure the government to halt the construction of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). They carried a placard and wore t-shirts with protest messages. The protesters claim that the pipeline is likely to have a negative impact on the environment and people's livelihoods.
