Founder of Bios Iguana reported receiving death threats during the visit to the state of Colima of the "International and National Observer Mission on the Zacualpan Case", composed of academics, human rights defenders, NGOs and journalists from Canada, the United States and Mexico, held from March 1 to 4 2015, when alleged campaign of harassment and criminalization against her and other members of the organization Bios Iguana took place. The Mission documented the repeated and serious assaults that the organization Bios Iguana, A.C. has received since 2013, including death threats, arbitrary detentions, defamation, intimidation and boycotting of its work and witnessed the disproportionate police operation consisting of riot police, state and judicial police deployed by the authorities on March 1-3, when the Mission attempted to enter the community of Zacualpan.
