Lorenzo Ramírez Rodríguez, who is 75 years old and a communal authority, was one of the 11 "political prisoners" for defending the right to access to water of communities in San Marcos, Guatemala. For more than two years, he was imprisoned in Cantel prison due to his activism. He was finally realised in February 2017. According to the media, the company, Hidroelectrica Salá, and its employees presented the charges against him.
