On 29 November 2019, human rights defender Rodrigo Timoteo was attacked and killed by suspected agents of 66th Infantry Battalion-Philippine Army in the Philippines. Rodrigo Timoteo was a member of the Compostela Farmers Association (CFA), a group opposed to a gold-mining project by Agusan Petroleum and Mineral Corp.
