In March 2025, Ansell was notified of allegations regarding adverse human rights impacts at Mediceram Sdn Bhd (Mediceram), a small ceramic former manufacturer and supplier to one of our plants in Malaysia. The allegations included debt bondage, underpayment of wages, retention of identity documents, and substandard living conditions.

Following this, we acted swiftly to investigate the issues and engage directly with Mediceram, and have continued to work closely with Mediceram to encourage it to mitigate and remediate the harm…

On 31 October 2025, Ansell was informed that Mediceram had terminated 177 workers on the grounds of refusal to work until worker permit and other alleged issues were resolved…

We promptly engaged with Mediceram to communicate our view that the termination of the workers’ employment was not an appropriate course of action, and that our expectation was that the company reinstates all terminated workers…

Ansell prioritises constructive engagement and support over disengagement in line with UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). Accordingly… Ansell chose not to walk away…
