Chile: Local communities criticize “social workers” hired by Barrick Gold despite court ruling suspending Pascua Lama mine

Communities from Valle del Huasco criticize the presence of “social workers” from “Valor Compartido” consultancy firm contracted by Barrick Gold in their territories. They say that is contrary to a decision by environmental authorities that suspended works at the Pascua Lama mine. Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Barrick Gold to respond to these allegations (in Spanish); the response is provided.
