In August 2023, Coordinator of the Aguán Agrarian Platform and well known human rights defender, Jaime Cabrera, was allegedly falsely accused of aggravated usurpation, criminal association and unjust deprivation of liberty. He has defended his territory and community against agro-industrial companies, including Dinant Corporation, and has been in dialogue with the government over the damages caused by these companies.
