On 1 February 2024, environmental activists Julie Dreamer and Jordan Mays were arrested following a direct action against the construction of the Mountain Valley Pipeline. Dreamer attached herself to an aircraft while Mays remained beside her on the helipad. Dreamer was charged with interfering with the property rights of another and Mays was cited for obstructing the free passage of others.

The Mountain Valley Pipeline is a gas pipeline spanning approximately 300 miles (480km) from northwestern West Virginia into southern Virginia in the United States. Environmental advocates have spent a decade fighting the construction of the pipeline, which started in 2018. The pipeline became operational on June 14, 2024.
