Myanmar: Production pressures & exploitative targets reported by Mengyue Garment workers, among other abuses; incl. co. non-response

KnowTheChain, 2021

In September 2024, it was reported that workers at Mengyue Garment are facing a series of violations, including excessive production targets, workers forced to finish their lunch breaks quickly if they are not meeting the targets, verbal abuse and humiliation if workers don’t meet the target, wage deductions if a worker takes leave incl. if a worker falls sick and returns home, no employment contract for workers, and workers who resign not given the wages they are owed.

In December 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Palltex to respond. It did not.
