NLRB Slams Tesco For Anti-Union Grocery Coupons [USA]

Ver todas las etiquetas
The National Labor Relations Board ruled…that Tesco…violated the National Labor Relations Act when it ordered employees at more than 15 California Fresh & Easy grocery stores to hand out coupon-bearing fliers apologizing for pro-union protests outside a Los Angeles store. A three-judge NLRB panel reversed a decision by Administrative Law Judge Lana H. Parke allowing the fliers because they didn’t contain an anti-union message. The panel said the fliers didn’t need to contain an explicit anti-union message to violate a rule barring employers from requiring employees to make an observable choice to support or oppose a union….Tesco…[had] argued…it acted appropriately…The NLRB ordered Tesco to cease and desist from the wrongful activity and, at stores where the fliers were handed out, to post notices informing employees of their right to unionize…Representatives for Tesco weren’t immediately available.
