Private bus workers in Kochi plan stir [India]

The employees demand that the owners of private buses either pass on a portion of the daily collection to the workers or give them wages in accordance with the `fair wage' fixed by the Government...They work for more than 12 hours each day...Meanwhile, the general secretary of the Ernakulam District Private Bus Operators' Association has stated that workers could approach the Labour Officer if any owner was denying them `minimum wages'.
