Responsible Mining Index 2018: an assessment of company policies and practices

Ver todas las etiquetas

This first index covers 30 companies measured based on 73 indicators applied at company level across various thematic areas (namely: economic development, business conduct, lifecycle management, community wellbeing, working conditions, environmental responsibility).

One key finding is that few companies can demonstrate that they have systematically operationalised their commitments into effective actions and fewer still show they are tracking their performance on these issues. It also highlights how the scale and persistence of severe adverse impacts greatly undermine progress made by companies towards more effective management of economic, environmental, social and governance (EESG) issues.
