Police raids community, captures indigenous leader of resistance against hydroelectric project, who is detained. At 4 in the morning, vehicles with police and army personnel allegedly entered the community of Pojom San Mateo Ixtatan, to search for leaders opposed to the Pojom I and II hydroelectric project. The security force allegedly used tear gas. The targets of this operation were two brothers, Jesus and Casimiro Mateo who were transferred by air to the city of Huehuetenango where they were detained. Both brothers had been involved in a confrontation on November 23, 2014 with PDH workers, for which they were being charged with attempted murder, claims that community leaders denounce.
