Mine rejects strip-search claim [So. Africa]

The Sedibeng Diamond Mine has rejected a National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) claim that it is forcing women workers to strip naked to be searched. A statement issued on Wednesday further dismissed a claim that members of the management had chased union representatives away when they tried to intervene. "There is a standard searching procedure for all employees. Employees are not forced to remove all their clothes during searches," read the mine statement.
