On 20 February 2018, Al-Haq delivered a letter of communication to Mr. Takahiro Hachigo, President and CEO of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. The letter highlighted Honda’s complicity in violations of international humanitarian law perpetrated by Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) through its official Israeli affiliate ‘Mayer Cars and Trucks Co., Ltd.’ located in unlawful settlements in the West Bank. Al-Haq calls upon Honda Motor Co., Ltd. to act with due diligence and avoid cooperating with businesses and corporations such as ‘Mayer Cars and Trucks Co., Ltd.’ and to comply with International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law.
