Stellantis response to Climate Rights International allegations

We work to inform our decisions with transparent due diligence and supply chain mapping. Our due diligence framework is anchored in the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and ILO core conventions, to verify ethical practices and identify risks proactively.
Also, when reasonably possible, we engage in vertical integration and direct sourcing of critical raw materials (e.g., lithium, nickel, cobalt) to promote greater visibility, transparency, and alignment with sustainability principles throughout our supply chain. We conduct country and supplier-level ESG risk assessments, drawing from reputable external sources—including CAHRAs, the World Bank, and the Heidelberg Report— to evaluate environmental, social, and governance exposures.
If material ESG gaps in the supply chain are identified and not adequately addressed through corrective action, we will take appropriate measures, including potential termination of business relationships with our immediate suppliers and/or other measures designed to apply legitimate leverage on the supply chain actors...

Stellantis’ Global Responsible Purchasing Guidelines (GRPG) detail our overall supplier expectations in relation to human rights. Stellantis seeks increased transparency regarding Environmental, Social and Governance topics from our value chain because we recognize and respect the fundamental human right to clean air, clean water and environmental preservation. To underline these expectations our contracted/Tier 1 suppliers are asked to sign the GRPG to confirm their commitment. Our Environment and Energy commitments establish the framework for setting internal objectives and targets, that seek to minimize the environmental impact of our business on current and future generations, communities and resources.

We do require specific targeted commodities to provide us details of their supplier list, e.g., conflict minerals smelter and/or refiner lists, but obtaining such information is often challenging for legal and practical reasons. For similar reasons we do not publicly disclose the identities of the individual supplier information we are able to obtain. We do, however, provide aggregated data and performance metrics in our annual Corporate Sustainability Report. We leverage the requirements of the European Union Battery Regulation to promote transparency in the supply chain.

Our supplier mitigation strategy includes requiring independent third party ESG assessments; mandating ESG audits; helping suppliers develop foundational ESG policies (e.g., Codes of Conduct); and maintaining contractual safeguards, including termination rights for non-compliance.
On top of the previously mentioned activities, for direct raw material purchases, independent on-site audits are deployed for all critical minerals used in EV batteries to assess mining and refining operations. Identified findings from the audit are analyzed and inform time-bound corrective action plans with ongoing monitoring.
Through continuous monitoring, transparency, and escalation mechanisms, Stellantis enforces its ESG standards and supports alignment with stakeholder expectations and regulatory frameworks —thereby aiming to prevent situations akin to those documented in the CRI report.

Suppliers are key stakeholders of Stellantis’ approach to reduce CO2 scope 3 upstream emissions, from ore extraction till components production, focusing on emissions generated from the production of goods and services purchased by Stellantis. Our purchasing department defined a target to increase to 95% the share of APV from key suppliers with CO2 reduction targets that comply with the Paris Agreement by 2030. We have prioritized components and raw materials that represent 80% of GHG emissions from our BEV supply chain.
They are specifically tracked and followed by engineering and purchasing teams to focus on reducing the carbon footprint of suppliers providing parts and materials with significant GHG emissions.
For direct raw material purchases, we establish quantified and time-bound targets in sourcing to advance toward our 'Carbon Net Zero' objective. Major suppliers are requested to share their carbon net zero roadmap to demonstrate their ability to support the Stellantis Carbon Net Zero Targets, and work on an emission reduction plan compliant with the Paris Agreement. In addition, suppliers are asked to participate in the Carbon Disclosure Project (“CDP”) reporting...
