UK: Deliveroo riders strike over changes in pay structure & working conditions; Includes comments from Deliveroo

In August to September 2019, Deliveroo riders across the UK staged protests against changes in Deliveroo's pay structure, where there has been a reduction in the minimum payment riders receive per delivery. Riders were are also protesting in demand of improved working conditions, including greater security against abuse and holiday and sick pay.

Deliveroo argues that the pay changes were part of a move to improve flexibility for riders, and 70 per cent of orders across the UK now offer a higher fee than before.
