The USO (Unión Sindical Obrera - Subdirectiva Meta) disclosed that one of its affiliates, Alexander Vargas Zambrano, received death threats. On October 21, 2021, a document arrived at the facilities of the Total QC SAS company, where the unionist works. The next morning, Vargas received the document realizing that it was a pamphlet signed by the Autodefensas Gaitanistas de Colombia (AGC), in which he says: “The time has come, we are not going to allow them to destroy the companies seeking profit in a union, for this reason we are going to give Mr. Alexander Vargas Zambrano 72 hours to put his union aside, otherwise we do not see the obligation to take measures with you and your family ”. According to the union, Alexander has been accompanying the negotiation process of the Collective Bargaining Agreement that was presented to this company.
