In India, Project monitoring group has decided to digitise all applications for clearances relating to forest, environment and others to fast track major investment projects and impart transparency in clearance procedures. Environmentalists and activists raises concern about potential skew towards investors over needs of the environment & local communities, leading to industrialisation of large green belts.
