China: New report sheds light on Jiangxi Copper's environmental and health toll in China; incl. co. non-response

Rainforest Action Group has released a new report on Jiangxi Copper, China's largest integrated copper producer. The report highlights the environmental and health impacts of Jiangxi Copper's operations in China, including its Dexing Copper Mine, Asia's largest open-pit copper mine, and its Guixi smelter, the world's largest copper smelting and refining complex. The report reveals ecological risks, pollution, and health concerns in communities near these facilities, raising questions about the company's environmental and social practices.

In April 2024, Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited Jiangxi Copper to respond. It did not.
