The company is committed to the health, safety and welfare of all its employees and the local communities. We have made significant progress in...Reduced exposed worker blood lead levels...Reduced metallic content of effluents to the Mantaro by more than 90 percent since 1994...By the end of 2006, we expect to bring lead emissions into compliance with Peruvian law...Brought arsenic emissions from the main stack within the government’s acceptable range...Doe Run Peru has given priority to efforts that reduce lead exposure, and is requesting an extension to complete the final project – the construction of sulfuric acid plants...We agree that more needs to be done and we are committed to continued improvement.
