The Nuevo Dia Ch’orti Indigenous Association (Central Campesina Ch’ortí Nuevo Día, CCCND) has accused owner and security staff of the Cantera Los Manantiales mine, owned by company Incamin, of violently breaking up the peaceful demonstrations the communities have maintained against the mining project and shooting at the back of the organisation´s building. The Business and Human Rights Resource Centre attempted to contact Incamin to invited them to respond, but were unsuccessful.
