Hunkemöller’s response to allegations of abuses in Myanmar garment factories - October Update

...We have immediately started investigating the claims through our compliance process. After contacting Myanmar Efforts Garment, we were informed by factory management that there were no illegally dismissed workers due to a lack of orders or otherwise. Moreover, no factory workers were forced to take leave without the legally due severance payment. However, to further assist our investigation, we will continue to closely work together with other stakeholders to better understand the situation and – if necessary – provide for proper remediation. With transparency and by working together we can use our influence to improve labour conditions and protect the rights of garment workers.
