Japan: Review panel recommends prosecution of TEPCO president

[English summary of Japanese article provided by Business and Human Rights Resource Centre] A Prosecutorial Review panel has rejected the conclusion of the Prosecutor's office that TEPCO senior management could not be held criminally liable for the nucelar disaster, since they had not been adequately informed of the possbility of a large tsunami in the area. The review panel pointed to a meeting that took place in 2008, where the then-President of the company and other senior managers were provided with material on this very possibility. The panel recommended the prosecution of the then-President of TEPCO and two other senior managers. Prosecutor's Office must now review its decision.
