Peru: Workers denounce anti-union practices by Glencore at the Antapaccay mine

On 26 June 2025, Peruvian unions SITRAMINA and SUT accused Glencore of anti-union practices at the Antapaccay mine in Cusco during an ongoing collective bargaining process that began in April. The unions allege long‑standing harassment, including unjustified dismissals, pressure on workers to renounce union membership, and denial of collective bargaining and strike rights. The unions also claim the company used financial incentives to discourage union affiliation, undermining union unity.

Glencore responded to the Business and Human Rights Centre's invitation to respond.
