Philippines: Passage of Expanded Maternity Law increases leave days from 60 to 105 days

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte signed into law a proposal extending statutory maternity leave from 60 days to 105 days. Solo parents will also be granted additional 15 days of paid maternity leave. In March 2017, the Senate of the Philippines approved the proposed Expanded Maternity Leave Law of 2017

Before the passage of the law, two companies are already increasing the maternity leave benefits for their employees: Johnson & Johnson Philippines and Uniliver PH.
