Anyone who doubts the existence of a growing trend to give publicly listed corporations a human face should consider the latest initiative  – a benchmark that will rank the corporate human rights performance of international companies... The Corporate Human Rights Benchmark aims to drive responsible business activities by developing a transparent, publicly available and credible benchmark of company human rights performance... Corporate boardrooms are now being taken to task on their strategy and decision making around matters involving environmental, social and governance concerns... On this at least, 2016 bodes well for corporate governance: from then the first companies will be able to track their performance on human rights, with more businesses being added in future.
