Aid organisation Oxfam is accusing big brand food and fashion retailers of undermining labour standards. Oxfam claims in a report shops such as supermarket chain Tesco contribute to appalling employment conditions around the world. It claims the retailers are employing "ruthless purchasing practices"...The result is that people working at the bottom of the supply chain, usually women, are subjected to "appalling conditions" and have almost no rights at all...But Tesco says they are committed to high ethical standards and the criticisms in the report are wrong.
