River Island's response re. Jeans Manufacturing

‘We can confirm that we have no records of having placed orders with the Jeans Manufacturing in Mirpur, Bangladesh, either directly or through one of our suppliers. Therefore, Jeans Manufacturing is not part of our approved suppliers, as indicated in our publicly available supplier list

We have sent a letter to the factory requesting the removal of all references made of River Island as a customer and to update their information to accurately reflect who their customers are. We have also encouraged the factory to make effective all due payments to workers as we find these allegations troubling.

River Island is deeply committed to maintain ethical and responsible sourcing practices for all our products and throughout our business operations. Failure by any of our suppliers to make payments for workers’ wages and other legal benefits constitutes a critical breach of our Code of Practice’.
