In order to institutionalize ECFIC [Executive Committee of Foreign Investment Companies, part of China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, CAEFI] member companies’ CSR [corporate social responsibility] activities and to give member companies a guiding principle, after extensive and in-depth discussion and collection of opinions and suggestions, the ECFIC member companies finally has agreed on a 12-point Declaration on CSR. This 12-point Beijing Declaration is based on the state policies of the Chinese government and the hot spots of social demand...Currently, about 70 companies have endorsed this Beijing Declaration and we expect that even more companies will participate in the future. The signing companies will actively implement the 12-point Beijing Declaration...In 2006, ECFIC CSR activities will focus on...Intellectual Property Rights, environmental protection, technological innovation, and public social welfare activities.
