t's been 30 years since tragedy struck this capital city of Madhya Pradesh. Though life has now returned to normal, many women whose husbands died after the gas leak at the Union Carbide factory are praying to god for death...Though a colony was created by the state Housing Board for rehabilitating the women who lost their husbands in the tragedy, the widows say they are not even getting the bare minimum facilities...Abdul Jabbar, convener of the Bhopal Gas Peedit Mahila Udyog Sangathan, said the widows are living in very harsh conditions, partially due to problems in getting family pension after their husbands died.
