BWU on safety on construction sites [Barbados]

General Secretary of the Barbados Workers’ Union (BWU), Orlando "Gabby" Scott, has called on the Ministry of Labour’s factory inspectors to analyse building sites before any work is started on them. Speaking in response to last Thursday’s accident on a Barbados Light and Power Company work site near the Garfield Sobers Roundabout which left one man dead and another seriously injured, Scott said that more attention needed to be paid to occupational safety standards within the construction industry.
