Tyson wins 'donning and doffing' case brought by workers [USA]

A federal jury in Philadelphia has ruled in favor of Tyson Foods this week in a wage dispute brought to court by workers against one of the company’s poultry processing plants, bringing some hope to companies caught up in "donning and doffing" cases [related to unpaid overtime]... Last month George's Processing Inc. agreed to pay a $1.24 million settlement in a lawsuit brought by the Department of Labor...for uncompensated overtime hours... An unanimous decision issued by the Supreme Court in November 2005 against a mining company, upheld the labor department's positions on "donning and doffing". [also refers to Perdue, IBP (part of Tyson Foods)]
