For the first time, Expo organisers have disclosed three construction-related deaths and 72 injuries, among 200,000 workers, which happened during the preparations for Dubai Expo 2020. The three workers who died from work-related accident were from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Germany.

However, Expo revised the number of deaths, on Sunday 3 October, to include three workers who lost their lives to Coronavirus. Reuters has asked Dubai Expo executives whether there had been deaths from other causes; no response was provided. Reuters has also contacted Dubai’s Media Office and asked them to comment; they have not responded.
