Apple did not respond concerning the erasure of logs essential for spyware accountability

On 28 October 2025, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Apple to respond to concerns raised by digital security researchers and CyberNews that the iOS 26 update will “erase all evidence of older Pegasus and Predator detections”, complicating accountability for spyware technologies that have been linked to instances of grave harm.

The company did not respond.
