Azerbaijan: Abuses by oil companies include wage delays, workplace discrimination, illegal termination of contracts, health & safety violations, environmental pollution, says NGO report; incl. co. response & non-responses
2022 annual report by Oil-Workers’ Rights Protection Organization PU has found various violations of workers' right in oil sector in Azerbaijan. The violation vary from wage delays and illegal examinations to biased layoffs and deaths at workplace.
Business & Human Rights Resource Centre reached out to 16 companies mentioned in the report. Complex Drilling Works Trust responded. Their resonse is attached below. SOCAR, Bahar Energy, Shirvan, Oil and Gas Research Institute, Azneft PU, SOCAR Petroleum, Lukoil, Gulf Drilling Supply FZE, Turan Drilling & Engineering, SOCAR Downstream, BUE Caspian, Binagadi and Umid Babek Operating Company did not respond.
