Statement
In response to recent concerns from social organizations about the relevant issues of the Lower Sesan 2 Power Plant, we have conducted an investigation. The Lower Sesan 2 Power Plant project was approved by the Cambodian government, and the project company strictly followed the development agreement while fulfilling its due obligations. After the operation, it effectively alleviated the power shortage of local residents in Cambodia and greatly promoted the economic and social development of Cambodia. The resettlement work was implemented by a resettlement agency that organized by the government in accordance with the resettlement plan approved by the Cambodian government. After a field investigation, we found that vast majority of the resettlement work has been completed and the living conditions of the people relocated have been greatly improved. Meanwhile, the local authority is continuously working towards addressing a few remaining resettlement issues. We will keep our attention on this matter.
