Gabriel Resources threatens Romania with arbitration over murky mine

Gabriel Resources threatened to sue the Romanian government since September 2013 for up to $4-billion “for multiple breaches of investment treaties.”...Gabriel’s CEO, Jonathan Henry, the company’s sixth bosswarned that the government’s failure to approve the project would damage all of Romania...“Gabriel’s mine was irrevocably rejected by Romania’s civil society despite the company’s attempts to conduct costly cosmetic surgery to hide its ugly mine together with its disastrous effects to the environment...and human health...” said Stephanie Simon, legal adviser of the Alburnus Major NGO.
