Jober24 response re- wage theft and intimidation of migrant workers at Plukon chicken plant
Upon receiving information regarding alleged abuse of Latin American workers performing tasks at the Plukon facility, Jober24 promptly initiated an internal review, including consultations with P&S Sierpc Sp. z o.o., the subcontractor responsible for employing these individuals within the scope of the project.
The actions taken did not confirm any form of misconduct. In particular, no evidence was found of wage theft or intimidation. The work was organized in a shift system fully compliant with the Polish Labour Code, and all changes to work schedules were made within legal limits and in consultation with the staff.
We would like to emphasize that the workers from Colombia and Mexico mentioned in the article were not directly employed by Jober24, but by P&S Sierpc Sp. z o.o., an independent subcontractor. Accordingly, P&S bears full responsibility for legalizing their residence and employment, paying their wages, and complying with all labour laws applicable to their employees.
Regarding the incident involving an alleged weapon – it has been clearly established that the situation was private in nature and involved several men of Georgian origin who verbally assaulted a Ukrainian worker employed by P&S. In response, the attacked individual reportedly used a replica weapon (not a firearm) to deter the aggressors. Workers from Latin America were merely witnesses to the incident.
