Karen Yajaira Trigueros is a land and territory defender in the community of Azacualpa, Honduras. On 11th May 2019 she and her colleagues were protesting against the detonation of dynamite near the community cemetery by mining company Minerales de Occidente, subsidiary of Aura Minerals when she, along with two colleagues, was arbitrarily detained by the police. Finally she was set free and it was confirmed that no crime had been committed.
