Levi's response to BHRRC Gender-based violence & Harassment report six-month update
[...]
We have not received any specific allegations from Asia Floor Wage Alliance regarding our suppliers in India, nor did we find cases of GBVH during our annual code of conduct assessments that were not already addressed through existing policies and procedures. However, we continue to work with our suppliers to ensure they are following our holistic approach to mitigating gender-based violence.
Our efforts to address gender-based violence and harassment go beyond improving monitoring. Our supplier code of conduct mandates simple and clear compensation and contractual terms to address the risk of exploitation of women by their managers, and requires that assessment teams include or are led by women. We also require rigorous, contextually appropriate hiring and representation ratios of women in factory middle and top management, while working to expand independent grievance hotlines for workers to be able to report any grievances anonymously through a third party in all key sourcing countries. And we continue to partner with local organizations such as Swasti, Ulula and Imentor to facilitate a holistic approach to addressing gender-based violence and harassment.
