Rio Tinto's Jadar Project in Serbia, selected as strategic project by the EU, has raised the following concerns or allegations:

• Allegations of deprivation of objective information to local populations despite the media company being financed by Rio Tinto
• Allegation of irregularities perpetrated by Rio Tinto to avoid conducting an environmental impact assessment
• Concerns around biodiversity risks, water pollution, increased risks of flash floods, and other environmental impacts.
